Most of the time, a woman’s health is taken for granted and often placed at the periphery in patriarchal societies. But on this International Day of Action for Women’s Health, we at ABTP aim to shift the spotlight—toward prioritizing women’s well-being through impactful physiotherapy interventions.
It’s well-known that women go through various physical and hormonal transformations throughout their lives—from menstruation and reproductive phases to postnatal recovery and menopause. However, what often goes undiscussed is how these changes affect joint health, posture, and muscular balance.
In this blog, we’ll help you understand how ABTP empowers women to live pain-free, move better, and thrive through every stage of life with tailored physiotherapy support.
Issues Related to Puberty These days, early menarche is seen in girls as young as 8 to 9 years old, affecting their physical development and disrupting hormonal balance. Combined with the strain of heavy school bags and prolonged screen exposure, many teenagers experience poor posture, fatigue, and musculoskeletal discomfort.

At ABTP, we offer posture correction and physiotherapy-based training tailored for teens, aiming to restore postural alignment, improve core strength, and prevent long-term complications. Through early intervention, we help young girls maintain their wellness, supporting their growth into healthy and confident individuals.
The Orthopaedic Wellness
The demands of modern life and the rise of corporate culture have taken a significant toll on women’s health. While their never-say-die attitude helps them cope with physical strain, hormonal fluctuations can also impact bone, muscle, and joint health.

At ABTP, we use techniques such as manual therapy, posture correction, gait training, and strength conditioning to address conditions like osteoporosis, arthritis, chronic back pain, knee pain, and more. With our holistic approach, we empower women to move pain-free and regain their confidence.
Pre-Natal Care
As a woman conceives, her body undergoes numerous changes. When the belly begins to grow, postural shifts occur, accompanied by significant hormonal fluctuations. One such change is the increase in the hormone relaxin, which makes the joints more flexible than usual.

During this period, a woman’s body experiences considerable orthopaedic stress, particularly in the lower back, pelvic girdle, and feet—often aggravating conditions like sciatic pain

At ABTP, we support moms-to-be with tailored exercise routines designed specifically for this transformative phase. Our advanced scientific interventions help correct posture and prevent long-term musculoskeletal damage. In addition, our pelvic floor therapists offer specialized training to prepare for labour and address urinary concerns, promoting overall wellness throughout pregnancy.
Postpartum Phase
As per the National Institute of Health, the postpartum phase begins soon after childbirth and lasts typically around 6 to 8 weeks. This period is important for both the short-term and long-term health of a mother. After childbirth, a woman silently endures an array of challenges and still embraces her child with warmth—without expressing the discomfort caused by prolonged breastfeeding hours, diastasis recti, pelvic weakness (especially after a vaginal delivery), or various movement restrictions following a C-section.

At ABTP, our expert-guided physiotherapy programs play a vital role in helping mothers restore their well-being during this phase. With the help of pelvic floor training, gentle strength training, and manual therapy, we enable new mothers to gradually return to movements like bending, lifting, or walking. Timely physiotherapy interventions help prevent long-term orthopaedic complications such as chronic back pain or pelvic dysfunction.
Menopause & Women's Health
Inside a woman’s body, hormonal fluctuations play a constant role, influencing not just her physical state but also her moods, energy levels, and overall well-being. Menopause is also a phase in which hormonal changes often trigger loss of bone density (osteoporosis), joint stiffness, and arthritis—especially in the knees, hips, and spine. Muscle mass significantly decreases, and there is an increased risk of falls and fractures.

But ABTP helps a woman mitigate these challenges by helping her maintain muscle and joint function through strength training, support bone health through weight-bearing exercises, and reduce the risk of falls with balance and mobility training. Proactive orthopaedic care during menopause not only supports mobility but also enhances independence and quality of life.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Every individual’s body undergoes several transformations in a lifetime, but pelvic floor dysfunction can arise at any age and can occur in both men and women. Various factors contribute to this condition, such as aging, childbirth (in women), chronic straining, and hormonal fluctuations. But physiotherapy at ABTP offers holistic solutions. At ABTP, pelvic floor dysfunction is usually addressed with: • Pelvic floor muscle retraining • Core and hip stabilization • Postural correction • Ergonomic coaching
An integrated approach not only improves pelvic health but also supports orthopaedic alignment and long-term mobility.

On this International Day of Action for Women’s Health, we express our concern by understanding that a woman’s wellness journey is deeply personal and undeniably powerful. We recognize that every woman’s body undergoes several transformations—from puberty to pregnancy, postpartum to menopause—and each stage comes with its own unique challenges.
But physiotherapy at ABTP empowers a woman and helps her recover with confidence, live with strength, and lead a quality life free from pain. By helping a woman overcome chronic pain and addressing her post-menopausal bone loss, physiotherapy at ABTP offers a lifespan approach to health, prioritising her wellness and optimised actions for her care.
